The Farmers' Market is held on the 2nd Saturday of every month in the Market Place. The first market was held in Belper in 1739.

Generally held on the last Saturday of every month at the District Council?s Agricultural Business Centre (ABC), the multi-award-winning event is bursting through the economic gloom with record visitor figures. The popular market is now attracting more than 5,000 visitors, many of the 70 stall holders are selling out before closing time ? and there is a waiting list of more than 50 traders.
Bakewell is the second largest farmers? market in the country, with only Winchester boasting a larger number of stall holders.
